24-HR FORECAST OUTLOOK & ANALYSIS*

NANMADOL (MINA) is expected to move WNW to Westward during the next 24 hours. On the forecast track, the center of the depression will continue to traverse Fujian Province throughout the day. NANMADOL will dissipate into a remnant low pressure as it moves inland across the rugged terrain of Southeastern China. Below is the summary of the 24-hour forecast for this system.

WEDNESDAY EVENING:  Tracking WNW across the rugged terrain of Fujian Province...about 70 km NNW of Xiamen City, China [8PM AUG 31: 25.1N 117.9E @ 45kph].
THURSDAY MORNING:  No longer a Tropical Cyclone...just a remnant area of low pressure moving slowly across Southeastern China...about 158 km WNW of Xiamen City [8AM SEP 01: 25.3N 116.8E @ 35kph].

Maximum Sustained Winds (1-min. avg) have decreased to near 45 km/hr (25 knots) with higher gusts. NANMADOL is a weak Tropical Depression (TD) on the Saffir-Simpson Tropical Cyclone Scale. Continued dissipation on NANMADOL is expected today.

NANMADOL is an average-sized tropical cyclone with a diameter of 555 kilometers (300 nautical miles).

*Please be reminded that the 2-Day Forecast Outlook changes every 6 hours, and the wind speed forecast error, averages 35 kph per day. Therefore, a turn to the left or right of its future track and changes in its wind speed must be anticipated from time to time.
