Current Status and Outlook | Typhoon TEMBIN (VINTA) has been upgraded from a Severe Tropical Storm (STS) after traversing the southern tip of Palawan and is already outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Its circulation has left Palawan and is just affecting the Kalayaan Island Group (KIG) located over the Spratlys. Improving weather along these islands will be expected through the next 24 hours. *This is the Final Update on this tropical cyclone. 24-hr Outlook: TY TEMBIN (VINTA) is expected to move west to west-northwest at a forward speed of 20 km/hr, approaching the shoreline of Southern Vietnam tomorrow morning, Christmas Day (Dec 25). The typhoon will start to slowly weaken for the next 24 hours. The outer rainbands of TY TEMBIN (VINTA) will continue to bring moderate to at times heavy/extreme rains and thunderstorms across the Kalayaan Island Group today. |
