Typhoon SOUDELOR (HANNA) has reemerged over Taiwan Strait...after traversing Central and Western Taiwan this morning. Stormy weather is still being experienced across the western coastal areas of Northern and Central Taiwan...and is now experienced across Eastern Fujian.

This cyclone, although far, will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon (Hanging Habagat) bringing occasional to frequent rains with thunderstorms across Palawan incl. Calamian Group, Cuyo and Pamalican Islands, Western Mindanao, Negros Island Region, Western Visayas, Lubang Island, Occidental Mindoro, Batangas, Laguna and Cavite this weekend. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures against possible flashfloods or landslides.

1-DAY FORECAST OUTLOOK

TY SOUDELOR (HANNA) is expected to turn to the northwest during the outlook period. On the forecast track, SOUDELOR will be making its second landfall along the eastern coast of Fujian Province late tonight...and shall traverse the province through Sunday afternoon (Aug 09).

TY SOUDELOR (HANNA) is expected to rapidly weaken into a Tropical Depression through the forecast outlook as it traverses Fujian Province...and shall dissipate thereafter...becoming just an area of low pressure after crossing the northwestern border of Fujian Province. The Advance Intensity Forecast (AIF) shows its 10-minute maximum sustained winds decreasing to 45 kph by Sunday afternoon (Aug 09).

SUNDAY AFTERNOON: Weakens into a Tropical Depression (TD)...about 320 km west-northwest of Fuzhou City, China [2PM AUG 09: 27.7N 116.6E @ 45kph]. Confidence Level: HIGH.
