Current Status and Outlook | A fast-moving and rapidly organizing Tropical Disturbance (LPA) 92W is nearing Tropical Depression (TD) status and is now posing an impending threat to Extreme Northern Luzon particularly Batanes Group. This potential Tropical Cyclone will traverse the Balintang Channel by tomorrow late afternoon or early evening (Monday), July 16. This system will therefore induce the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and bring scattered to occasional rains and thunderstorms across the western sections of Luzon and MiMaRoPa incl. Metro Manila through Tuesday (July 17). |
Where is LPA 92W? | As of 5:00 PM PhT today, July 15…0900 GMT. The center was located over the southern part of the North Philippine Sea (near 19.0N 128.5E), about 671 km east of Santa Ana, Cagayan or 700 km east-southeast of Basco, Batanes. |
