Current Status and Outlook | MARIA has regained Super Typhoon strength as it approaches the northeastern part of the North Philippine Sea…will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) early tomorrow morning.. This catastrophic typhoon remains a non-threat to the country and WILL NOT MAKE LANDFALL to any part of the Philippines. However, it will induce the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and bring occasional rains and thunderstorms across the western sections of Luzon and Visayas this coming week. |
Where is MARIA? | As of 5:00 PM PhT today, July 08…0900 GMT. The eye was located over the Northwest Pacific Ocean (near 20.2N 137.1E), about 1,167 km southeast of Okinawa, Japan or 1,576 km east of Basco, Batanes. |
