TROPICAL DISTURBANCE 94W (LPA) [BISING] STORMWATCH NUMBER 009 **FINAL**

Tropical Disturbance 94W (LPA) [Bising] weakening as it moves across the North Philippine Sea, farther away from land. This is the last and final update on this system.

This disturbance will continue to enhance the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) and bring 15-35 km/hr winds with "on-and-off" slight to sometimes moderate rains across Luzon including Metro Manila, Mindoro, Marinduque and the Bicol Region today.

CURRENT STORM ANALYSIS

As of 6 AM today, the center of Tropical Disturbance 94W (LPA) [Bising] was located over the North Philippine Sea...about 407 km east-northeast of Palanan, Isabela or 477 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan...currently moving northeast with a forward speed of 19 km/hr.

Maximum Sustained Winds (1-min. avg) have decreased to 30 km/hr near the center with higher gusts. Yesterday, a WeatherPhilippines/Meteomedia Automated Weather Station (AWS) situated in Barangay Dapdap in Legazpi City, Albay has registered 148.8 millimeters (mm) of rainfall in a span of 24 hours, which is considered heavy. While, another AWS in Infanta, Quezon registered a 24-hr rain of 152.7 mm. The 24-hour rainfall accumulation near the center of 94W (Bising) is estimated to be heavy (200 mm).

Therefore, a turn to the left or right of its future track and changes in its wind speed must be anticipated from time to time.

Tropical Disturbance 94W (LPA) [Bising] continues to move faster north-northwestward across the North Philippine Sea. Its rainbands no longer affecting land areas.

This disturbance will continue to enhance the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) and bring 15-35 km/hr winds with "on-and-off" slight to moderate rains across Luzon including Metro Manila, Mindoro, Marinduque and the Bicol Region tonight and tomorrow.


Residents and visitors along Eastern Luzon should closely monitor the development of 94W (LPA) [BISING].

CURRENT STORM ANALYSIS

As of 6 PM today, the center of Tropical Disturbance 94W (LPA) [Bising] was located over the North Philippine Sea...about 287 km north-northeast of Pandan, Catanduanes or 374 km east of Casiguran, Aurora...currently moving north-northwest with an increased forward speed of 24 km/hr.

Maximum Sustained Winds (1-min. avg) remain at 35 km/hr near the center with higher gusts. A WeatherPhilippines/Meteomedia Automated Weather Station (AWS) situated in Barangay Dapdap in Legazpi City, Albay has registered 148.8 millimeters (mm) of rainfall in a span of 24 hours, which is considered heavy. While, another AWS in Infanta, Quezon registered a 24-hr rain of 152.7 mm. The 24-hour rainfall accumulation near the center of 94W (Bising) is estimated to be heavy (250 mm).


1-DAY FORECAST OUTLOOK*

Tropical Disturbance 94W (LPA) [Bising] is expected to continue moving north-northwest with a turn to the north-northeast during the next 24 hours. On the forecast track, the core of 94W (LPA) will continue to move across the open waters of the North Philippine Sea through Sunday evening...hundreds of kilometers to the east of Batanes Islands.

94W is forecast to maintain its strength through the next 24 hours...and will begin its transition into a Winter Storm (aka. Frontal System) while moving towards the sea south of Japan.

Tropical Disturbance 94W (LPA) [Bising] has maintained its north-northwest track towards the North Philippine Sea. Its rainbands over the Bicol Region now receding...improving weather conditions expected today.

This disturbance will continue to enhance the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) and bring 15-35 km/hr winds with "on-and-off" slight to moderate rains across Luzon including Metro Manila today.

As of 12 noon today, the center of Tropical Disturbance 94W (LPA) [Bising] was located over the Central Philippine Sea...about 232 km northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or 302 km northeast of Legazpi City, Albay...currently moving north-northwest with a forward speed of 22 km/hr in the general direction of the North Philippine Sea.

Maximum Sustained Winds (1-min. avg) remain at 35 km/hr near the center with higher gusts. The 24-hour rainfall accumulation near the center of 94W (Bising) is estimated to be heavy (250 mm).


1-DAY FORECAST OUTLOOK*

Tropical Disturbance 94W (LPA) [Bising] is expected to continue moving north-northwest with a turn to the north during the next 24 hours. On the forecast track, the core of 94W (LPA) will continue to move across the North Philippine Sea through Sunday...hundreds of kilometers to the east of Northern Cagayan.

94W is forecast to maintain its strength through the next 24 hours. However, it could also become a weak Tropical Depression (TD) if development occurs.
