3-DAY FORECAST OUTLOOK & ANALYSIS*

TEMBIN (IGME) is expected to move slowly SW to SE-ward during the next 12 to 24 hours...and will make a u-turn, moving ENE, NE to NNE during the next 36 to 72 hours. On the forecast track, the core of TEMBIN will re-enter PAR on Monday evening and make landfall over Southern Taiwan on Tuesday morning. The u-turn track of TEMBIN is mainly due to the pull and interaction with Typhoon BOLAVEN which will dictate Tembin's motion.

Maximum Sustained Winds (1-min. avg) remain near 130 km/hr (70 knots) with higher gusts. Some increase in strength will be expected during the next 2 to 3 days...but will weaken upon making landfall over Southern Taiwan on Tuesday.

Typhoon Force Winds (118 km/hr or more) extend outward up to 65 kilometers (35 nautical miles) from the center...and Tropical Storm Force Winds (62-117 km/hr) extend outward up to 205 kilometers (110 nautical miles). TEMBIN is an average-sized tropical cyclone with a diameter of 445 kilometers (240 nautical miles) across.

The following is the summary of the 3-day forecast outlook on this system:

SUNDAY EVENING: Making a u-turn...starts moving east to ENE towards Southern Taiwan...about 330 km SSE of Shantou City, China [11PM AUG 26: 20.5N 117.4E @ 150kph].
MONDAY EVENING: Accelerating NE to NN...approaching the coast of Southern Taiwan...about 122 km South of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan [11PM AUG 27: 21.5N 120.3E @ 160kph].
TUESDAY EVENING: Just along northern shores of Taiwan...about 30 km NE of Taiwan, Taiwan [11PM AUG 28: 25.2N 121.8E @ 130kph].

*Please be reminded that the Forecast Outlook changes every 6 hours, and the Day 3 Forecast Track have an average error of 250 km...while the wind speed forecast error, averages 35 kph per day. Therefore, a turn to the left or right of its future track and changes in its wind speed must be anticipated from time to time.
