TYPHOON PRAPIROON (HENRY) IS NOW VERY NEAR THE COAST OF
WESTERN GUANGDONG...TO MAKE LANDFALL SOMEWHERE FROM
MAOMING TO YANGJIANG, CHINA TONIGHT AROUND 7 TO 8 PM
HK TIME...THE CORE (EYE AND EYEWALL) NOW STARTING TO
MOVE ASHORE...HONG KONG AND MACAU UNDER THE TYPHOON'S
INNER BANDS.

MAOMING TO YANGJIANG, CHINA TONIGHT AROUND 7 TO 8 PM
HK TIME...THE CORE (EYE AND EYEWALL) NOW STARTING TO
MOVE ASHORE...HONG KONG AND MACAU UNDER THE TYPHOON'S
INNER BANDS.
+ FORECAST OUTLOOK: PRAPIROON's path has remained steady
with a landfall over Southern China in just a few hours.
Rapid dissipation shall be expected tomorrow evening un-
til Saturday as PRAPIROON moves further inland across
the rugged terrain of Guangxi Province (China).
+ EFFECTS: PRAPIROON's Core (Eye+EyeWall) starting to
move into Maoming and Yangjiang (pls refer to EPFT
shown above) - bringing typhoon-force winds (130-160
kph) and very heavy rains. Its inner bands continues
to affect Central Guangdong including Guangzhou City,
Hong Kong, Macau and also the northern part of Hainan
Island, while the outer bands are spreading across the
rest of Hainan & the southern portions of Fujian-
Jiangxi-Hunan Provinces & Eastern Guangxi. These bands
may bring cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rains
accompanied with winds reaching 100 kph or more with
decreasing wind speeds along the outer part. Residents
living along the river banks, steep mountain slopes and
low-lying areas are advised to stay alert and foresee
evacuation in case of possible flashfloods and mud-
slides. Coastal Storm Surge flooding of 4 to 5 feet
above normal tide levels...along with large and dange-
rous battering waves...can be expected near and to the
north of where the center makes landfall in Western
Guangdong area.
+ CURRENT MONSOON INTENSITY: The enhanced Southwest (SW)
Monsoon is no longer affecting Western Luzon...now well
off the South China Sea along the easternmost side of
Prapiroon's outer bands. However, a stray cluster of
thunderstorm clouds (from the typhoon's bands) are cu-
rrently bringing moderate to heavy rains with winds of
up to 40 kph across Zambales, Pangasinan, La Union &
Ilocos Provinces. These clouds are expected to dissi-
pate tonight or tomorrow.
+ TROPICAL CYCLONE WATCH: The Tropical Disturbance (LPA/
98W/1004 mb) near Yap of the Caroline Islands remained
weak with lack of cloud convection near its center.
Based on the latest JTWC analysis, the disturbance was
located farther to the Northeast (NE) or about 1,240 km
East of Samar (11.6N 136.8E)...moving WNW slowly with
max sustained winds of 25 km/hr. This disturbance will
be closely monitored for possible development into a
significant Tropical Cyclone within a day or two.
