The broad and strong disturbance (LPA) over the Philippine Sea, east of Samar has developed into a Tropical Depression (Pre-GENER)...moving NNW slowly towards the central part of the Philippine Sea. Consolidating rainbands spreading across Eastern Visayas and Bicol Region.
This depression will enhance the Southwest Monsoon (aka. Habagat) across Western Mindanao and the Visayas this weekend. Breezy conditions & mostly cloudy conditions w/ occasional to sometimes continuous rains, thunderstorms & squalls will be expected along the abovementioned areas.
Residents and visitors along Luzon and Taiwan should closely monitor the progress of this TD (Pre-Gener).

1-DAY FORECAST OUTLOOK & ANALYSIS*
The TD (Pre-GENER) is expected to move NNW to NW for the next 24 hours with no change in its forward speed. On the forecast track, the core of the depression will continue to move across open sea (Central Philippine Sea).
Maximum Sustained Winds (10-min. avg) are near 55 km/hr (30 knots) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 24 hours, and the depression is expected to become a Tropical Storm on Saturday.

SATURDAY MORNING: Becomes a Tropical Storm (TD) as it moves NNW to NW-ward across the warm Philippine Sea...about 445 km ESE of Virac, Catanduanes, Bicol Region [11AM JUL 28: 13.3N 128.3E @ 65kph].

TROPICAL CYCLONE WATCH
Another system, Tropical Depression (TD), was spotted organizing over the far Western Pacific Ocean. Its center was located about 692 km ESE of Iwo To or 712 km SE of Chichi Jima (23.6N 148.0E)...with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and was moving WNW @ 13 kph towards the sea south of Japan. CURRENT SW MONSOON INTENSITY: MODERATE >> Cloudy skies with passing occasional showers, rains or thunderstorms w/ squalls will be expected along the following affected areas: VISAYAS and WESTERN MINDANAO. Light to moderate SW'ly winds (not in excess of 35 kph) will blow across the abovementioned areas.
