Tropical Depression 24W (UNNAMED) turned westward slowly during the past 6 hours. Most of its rainbands displaced north of its center, bringing widespread rains across North-Central Vietnam & Hainan Island.
Residents and visitors along Hainan & Vietnam should closely monitor the progress of 24W (UNNAMED).

2-DAY FORECAST OUTLOOK & ANALYSIS*
24W (UNNAMED) is expected to turn abruptly Northward during the next 12 hrs...with a more northeasterly turn through 24 hours. Little change on its forward speed is likely during the next 2 days. On the forecast track, the core of the depression will cross the southern shores of Hainan by Wednesday...and track across the northern part of the South China Sea on Thursday.
Maximum Sustained Winds (1-min. avg) remain near 55 km/hr (30 knots) with higher gusts. 24W (UNNAMED) is a Tropical Depression (TD) on the Saffir-Simpson Tropical Cyclone Scale...and is likely to dissipate within the next 24 hours.
The following is the summary of the 2-day forecast outlook on this system:
WEDNESDAY MORNING: Turns ENE-ward...passing along the southern shores of Hainan with decreasing wind intensity [8AM NOV 09: 18.2N 109.7E @ 45kph].
THURSDAY MORNING: Dissipated as a remnant low along the northern portion of the South China Sea [8AM NOV 10: 18.9N 112.7E @ 30kph].

RAINBANDS - its northwestern & northern bands affecting & spreading across North Central Vietnam, Gulf of Tonkin and Hainan Island. Tropical Depression Conditions w/ moderate to strong winds (<62 kph) will be expected along these bands (click here to know more about Rainbands).
