TYPHOON FITOW (10W) NOW STARTING TO TURN NORTHWESTERLY IN THE
DIRECTION OF SOUTHERN HONSHU IN JAPAN.+ FORECAST OUTLOOK: FITOW is expected to move NW'ly for the next
12 hours, reaching peak intensity of 160 km/hr this afternoon
and shall turn NNW to Northward early tomorrow morning. The core
of FITOW shall reach the Southern Coast of Honshu tomorrow af-
ternoon, making landfall near Shizuoka City around 9 PM Japan
Time (JST) tomorrow evening and shall pass over Mt. Fuji after-
wards passing to the west of Metropolitan Tokyo afterwards. The
2 to 4-day forecast shows the system moving across the rugged
terrain of Central Honshu on the early morning of Friday (Sept
7), weakening abruptly and becoming an Extratropical Cyclone
while moving across the Southern Coast of Hokkaido on Friday,
Sept 8.
