TROPICAL DEPRESSION BISING (98W) NEWLY-FORMED OFF SIARGAO & BILIRAN ISLANDS...

DRIFTING SLOWLY TOWARDS EASTERN VISAYAS PARTICULARLY LEYTE, BOHOL AND

CEBU ISLANDS.

*Residents and visitors along Visayas, Bicol Region & Northern Mindanao should closely monitor

the progress of BISING.

+ FORECAST OUTLOOK: BISING is expected to turn more WNW for the next 2 to
3 days, crossing Southern Leyte tomorrow. It shall pass over Northern Cebu

tomorrow evening before moving across Northern Panay on Sunday, Feb 15 and

just north of Boracay Island Resort on Monday morning, Feb 16. BISING may

dissipate upon crossing the Visayas due to island terrain interaction.

+ EFFECTS: BISING's broad circulation is expected to bring scattered wide-
spread rains with weak squalls and thunderstorms across portions of the

Visayas, Bicol Region, Southern Luzon and Mindanao today. Residents in

low-lying areas & steep slopes must remain alert & seek evacuation for

possible life-threatening flash floods, mudslides & landslides due to the

anticipated heavy rains brought about by this system. Precautionary mea-

sures must be initiated if necessary.
